Atlanta selected Tromp's contract from Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Tromp will serve as the backup to Travis d'Arnaud while Sean Murphy (oblique) is on the injured list. Tromp went just 2-for-16 with an RBI across six major-league games last season and doesn't figure to see much playing time off the bench.
