The Brewers selected Herget's contract from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.
Herget had made three scoreless appearances with Nashville. The 33-year-old has posted a 5.74 ERA and 17:6 K:BB across 31.1 frames over parts of two seasons at the major-league level.
