Garcia was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Garcia will head back to the minors to free up a spot on the roster for Buster Posey (hamstring), who was activated from the injured list Wednesday. In three appearances during his most recent stint with the big club, Garcia went 2-for-10 with a home run.
