Romero's contract will be selected from Triple-A Rochester on Thursday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

Romero spent most of the season at Double-A Harrisburg but has made five appearances in Rochester since the start of September. Across his 38 relief appearances in in the minors this season, the right-hander has posted a 2.62 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 55 innings. He'll have the chance to make his major-league debut out of the Nationals' bullpen late in the season.
