Ramirez was designated for assignment by the Orioles on Wednesday.
Ramirez recorded a 6.97 ERA in 10.1 innings at the big-league level this season and had a 5.92 ERA in 65.1 frames last season. He'll make way on the 40-man roster for Chandler Shepherd, who was claimed off waivers from the Cubs in a corresponding move.
