Brault was placed on the 10-day injured list with a recurrent left lat strain Saturday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Brault was removed from Friday's game against the Nationals due to left arm discomfort, but he's apparently been dealing with a lat issue for some time. He'll miss at least one turn through the rotation, and it's not yet clear whether he'll have enough time to return prior to the end of the regular season. Right-hander Connor Overton was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday, but the Pirates haven't announced who will take Brault's place in the rotation.
