Stock (hamstring) elected free agency after refusing an outright assignment to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.

Stock made one start for the Cubs this season and two for the Mets before missing the majority of the second half with a strained right hamstring. Between that injury and his career 4.71 ERA in 72.2 major-league innings, Stock may be stuck looking for a minor-league deal heading into his age-32 season.
