Carle was added to Colorado's 40-man roster Friday, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
The 25-year-old was unimpressive during his first full season at Triple-A, sporting an unsightly 5.42 ERA and 1.61 WHIP in 19 starts and eight relief appearances last year. Although his peripherals suggest better days are on the horizon, Carle's measly strikeout numbers and lack of prospect shine will likely keep his ceiling at that of a long reliever at the big league level.
