Minaya had his contract selected from Triple-A St. Paul on Friday.
Minaya was booted from Minnesota's 40-man roster less than a month ago, but he will get another opportunity after biding his time in the minors. Now 31, Minaya has been in affiliated ball since the age of 18 and has appeared in parts of six MLB seasons. He has a 3.75 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 192:91 K:BB over 174.2 career innings. Tyler Thornburg was designated for assignment to clear a spot for Minaya.
