Kloffenstein was optioned to Triple-A Memphis by the Cardinals on Friday, John Denton of MLB.com reports. Kloffenstein earned a spot on the Cardinals' 40-man roster after registering an impressive 3.16 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 140:55 K:BB over 128 innings in 2023 between Double-A and Triple-A. The Cardinals selected Kloffenstein to their 40-man roster Tuesday. Kloffenstein earned his way into the 40-man roster mix in St. Louis after pitching to a 3.16 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 140:55 K:BB over 128 innings this past season between the Double-A and Triple-A levels. Cardinals' Adam Kloffenstein: Dealt to St. Louis
The Blue Jays traded Kloffenstein and Sem Robberse to the Cardinals on Sunday in exchange for Jordan Hicks, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports. Kloffenstein put himself back on the prospect radar in 2023 with a 3.24 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 105:34 K:BB across 89 innings (17 starts) at the Double-A level, and the Cardinals apparently liked what they have seen.
