Bengals' Brandon Thompson: Set to miss first six weeks of regular season

Thompson (knee) was placed on the Bengals' reserve/PUP list Tuesday, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Thompson suffered a torn ACL in Week 17 of 2015 and missed the entirety of the Bengals' offseason program and training camp. Given the timing of his injury, he wasn't expected to be ready for the start of the regular season anyway. He's first eligible to return to action Oct. 23 for an in-state matchup against the Browns.
