It's official: Le'Veon Bell will be suspended for the first two games of the 2015 season. He'll miss the Steelers' opening game at New England and a home matchup against the 49ers before getting activated in time to play at St. Louis in Week 3.

And to this I say ... big whoop. I'm still taking him No. 1 overall.

Missing one-eighth of the season is nothing to sneeze at, but it doesn't mean Bell is suddenly going to morph into a bad player and be useless to your Fantasy pursuits. It also doesn't mean taking him will guarantee an 0-2 start for your season. You might even start 2-0 and then have Bell at your fingertips. Wouldn't that be delightful?

Don't you dare forget that Bell had 10-plus Fantasy points in 14 of 16 games last season. That's uncommon consistency at a position where consistency doesn't come easy. And he's healthy -- nothing is slowing him down like late last season that cost him a playoff game.

You're really going to give that up because he's going to sit two games?

If you are, you probably also passed on Josh Gordon during his breakout year and won't touch Tom Brady this year either.

I know that in Fantasy, it's not just about how you start but how you finish. Collecting great players is the name of the game, and Bell is one of them. When I take him first overall in my leagues, I know I'll be without him for two weeks but I'll also know I'll have him the rest of the season, including my Fantasy league playoffs. And I also know that he's matchup proof and can make an impact in every game regardless of opponent. Yes that even includes a daunting Week 12 game at Seattle.

We're always complaining about running backs being old or injury prone or whatever. The biggest knock we can come up with on Bell is that he'll miss these two games. And yet, it's not that big of a deal because we know it's coming and we can prepare for it. We can either draft his real-life backup, DeAngelo Williams, and use him for the first two weeks of the season, or we can seek out another back who should be available for selection in Round 5 or later with favorable matchups for the first two weeks of the season. Andre Ellington (NO, at CHI), Doug Martin (TEN, at NO) and Rashad Jennings (at DAL, ATL) all fit that bill. Or we could load up on running backs as usual and pick two very good ones to roll with to start the year.

And then we get Bell, and when we do, the suspension becomes an afterthought.

Point is, Bell still has exceptional value for Fantasy and is worth the first pick, PPR or not. Don't let the suspension psych you out.
