Okwara was waived by the Lions on Thursday.
Okwara was let go in order to make room on the active roster for James Houston (ankle), who was activated off injured reserve in a corresponding move. Okwara will now look to catch on with another team after compiling just seven tackles (six solo), including two sacks, through nine games played this season.
