Carlsson was promoted from AHL Cleveland on Wednesday.
Carlsson will likely continue to move between leagues due to the injuries to Ryan Murray (back), Seth Jones (ankle) and Dean Kukan (knee). Once the Jackets get one of the aforementioned blueliners back from IR, Carlsson figures to spend the rest of the year in the minors.
