Coach Willie Desjardins said the team will "have to make a medical decision" on Markstrom's injured knee soon, indicating that the Swedish goalie could be shut down for the season, The Province reports.

With the Canucks already eliminated from playoff contention, sitting Markstrom for the remainder of the campaign would seem to be a prudent move for the team, as the Swede could be in the running to start in goal next season. It's probably not worth investing in Markstrom in one-year leagues at this point.
