Podkolzin shouldn't be expected to spend much time in the minors, as this move is likely just a paper transactionto make him eligible for the AHL playoffs. Still, the 22-year-old Russian has logged just three NHL games this season, generating six hits and four shots while averaging 11:07 of ice time.
