According to Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site, Butcher returned to practice Tuesday, indicating he's cleared the NHL's COVID-19 protocols.
Although Butcher's cleared the league's virus protocols, he isn't expected to be in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Sabres. The 26-year-old American has tallied three points in just eight appearances this season.
