Wennberg will sign a three-year, $13.5 million contract with the Kraken on Wednesday, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports.
Wennberg was solid as a top-six option for the Panthers last season, picking up 17 goals, 29 points and 82 shots on net while averaging 18:10 of ice time per contest, but this still feels like a bit of an overpay for Seattle. Nonetheless, Wennberg should see top-six minutes and plenty of power-play time with the Kraken in 2021-22, giving him 20-plus goal and 50-plus point upside.
