Luff (upper body) was placed on waivers Sunday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Luff has yet to play this season after he was placed on IR in October. If he clears waivers, the 26-year-old Luff would likely suit up for AHL Grand Rapids once fully cleared healthwise. He had two goals and four points in 19 games with the Red Wings last season.
