Mrazek's alleged poor attitude factored into the team's decision to expose him to Vegas for the upcoming expansion draft, MLive.com reports.

According to this latest report, Mrazek voiced his displeasure with Jimmy Howard remaining property of the Wings before agreeing to a two-year extension last summer, and the Czech goalie reportedly was "less than tactful" when he made his feelings known. Since there's a chance that Mrazek could end up getting passed over by Vegas, GM Ken Holland declined to say why he chose to protect 33-year-old Howard versus shielding the much younger and more affordable Mrazek from the Golden Knights. The fourth-year goalie entered the 2016-17 campaign as the starter, but he struggled in a major way, finishing with an 18-21-9 record, 3.04 GAA and .901 save percentage. He did make 44 starts, though it's worth noting that a significant knee injury to Howard opened the door for more playing time than Mrazek may have deserved.
