Knyzhov was placed on waivers Saturday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Knyzhov has been a healthy scratch for the last five games. The 25-year-old defenseman has one assist in 10 games this season and will be sent to AHL San Jose, should he pass through waivers.
