(July 29, 1998) - SportsLine USA, Inc., (Nasdaq: SPLN), publisher of CBS SportsLine, and the FANSonly Network today announced an online content distribution agreement to integrate information from more than 40 official college sports Web sites into CBS SportsLine's comprehensive college football and men's basketball content.
The agreement calls for CBS SportsLine (cbs.sportsline.com) to create "content windows" on its college team pages for each school participating in the FANSonly Network (www.fansonly.com), enabling CBS SportsLine users to directly access authoritative team information from the corresponding official athletic department site in the FANSonly Network. CBS SportsLine will also integrate hyperlinks to FANSonly's official athletic department sites into related NCAA football and men's basketball editorial content. CBS SportsLine will promote the "content windows" on its college sports team pages through internal promotions that will link to the college team pages. "Starting this fall, our relationship with the FANSonly Network will enhance the depth of college sports content accessible to users of CBS SportsLine," said Andrew Sturner, vice president of business development for SportsLine USA, Inc., publisher of CBS SportsLine. "Because our users are accustomed to getting the most comprehensive information available, the agreement further expands our ability to inform even the most avid college sports fan."
