Why you should back the Phillies

Ranger Suarez (1-0, 0.64 postseason ERA) will be on the hill for Philadelphia and he'll be backed by a lineup that's been red-hot in the 2023 MLB playoffs. Designated hitter Kyle Schwarber has been red hot in the series, with seven hits in the series, including five home runs. He is hitting .368 in the series and has hits in seven of 11 postseason games, including a 2-for-3 performance with three runs scored, two homers and two RBI in Philadelphia's 10-0 win in Game 2 on Tuesday. He homered and was 2-for-4 in Game 5. Throughout his career, Schwarber has come through when the lights are brightest, smashing 20 postseason home runs in 62 career playoff games, including 11 in 29 games with the Phillies over the past two years. During the regular season, he hit just .197, but registered 47 home runs, 104 RBI and 108 runs scored.

Third baseman Alec Bohm was a bright spot in the 5-1 Game 6 loss, going 2-for-4. He is 6-for-22 (.273) in the series with a double and three RBI. He was 2-for-4 with an RBI in the 6-5 loss in Game 4 at Arizona. In 145 regular season games, Bohm hit .274 with 31 doubles, 20 homers, 97 RBI and 74 runs scored. See which team to back here.

Why you should back the Diamondbacks

Right-hander Brandon Pfaadt (0-0, 2.13 postseason ERA) is expected to get the start for Arizona. After a somewhat disappointing regular season, which saw him go 3-9 with a 5.72 ERA in 19 games, including 18 starts, he closed the regular season on a high note. He won two of his last three decisions, including a 3-0 win over the Chicago White Sox on Sept. 27. He then struggled in an Oct. 3 Wild Card game, going 2 2/3 innings in a 6-3 win over Milwaukee, allowing seven hits and three earned runs. He has been lights out since. He allowed just two hits and struck out two in a 4-2 NLDS win over the Dodgers on Oct. 11, pitching 4 1/3 innings. In a 2-1 win over the Phillies on Thursday, he allowed two hits in 5 2/3 innings, walking none and striking out nine.

Right fielder Corbin Carroll has been a bright spot on offense for the Diamondbacks, hitting .250 in 11 postseason games. He has hits in seven of those games, including multiple hits in three. Carroll has blasted a pair of home runs, including one in a 2-for-5 performance in an 11-2 win over the Dodgers in Game 1 of the NLDS. During the regular season, he played in 155 games, batting .285 with 30 doubles, 10 triples, 25 homers, 76 RBI and 116 runs scored. See which team to back here.
