Adam Ottavino is now a member of the New York Mets and is already talking smack about their crosstown rivals. The former member of the New York Yankees called out his old team while speaking to reporters on Tuesday afternoon.
The 36-year-old pitcher, who is from Brooklyn, explained that he is happy to be back in New York because it allows him to see his family more. He managed to take a shot at the Yankees while he was at it:
"It's where I really want to be. I get to sleep in my own bed and see my kids more, and not have to move three times, so that's the biggest thing. I'm really excited about that and obviously this team ... It's great that a good team is in New York."

Ottavino was with the Yankees in 2019 and 2020 before being traded to the Boston Red Sox. In 66.1 innings of work in 2019, he was great for the Yankees, accumulating a 1.90 ERA. In the following season, though, Ottavino battled injuries and that ERA ballooned to 5.89.
The right hander signed a $4 million deal for one year with the Mets on Monday. His new deal includes $1 million worth of incentives.
