Lin Chih Sheng of Taiwan's Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) recently reached base for the 85th straight game. That means that Sheng, second baseman for the Chinatrust Brothers (Chinatrust Brothers!) has now surpassed the mark set by Hall of Famer Ted Williams for the Red Sox back in 1949. Obviously, Williams's feat is the more impressive, since it was achieved against a much higher level of competion (and, unlikely Sheng, done in the span of a single season), but it's still quite a point of honor for Sheng.

Here's a look at the historic moment, which came against the Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions (Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions!) ...

As CPBL English notes, Sheng's on-base streak dates back to June 20, 2015, when he homered as a member of the Lamigo Monkeys (Lamigo Monkeys!).
