On Friday, Yasiel Puig returned to the Dodgers and notched a pair of singles in four at-bats.
Puig didn't wait long on Sunday to keep the good times rolling, hitting a go-ahead three-run home-run in his second at-bat. Here's the video:
Padres starter Christian Friedrich, making his first start in a fortnight, tried coming inside with a 2-1 fastball. That proved to be a mistake -- in part, perhaps, because his fastball clocked in at 89 mph. Puig turned and burned and the Dodgers went from down two to up three.
Notably, that was Puig's first big-league homer since July -- or some two months to the day. His 16-game drought tied the fourth-longest of his career. Just a guess, here, but he probably won't go as long before his next one -- especially not if pitchers keep testing him in fastball counts.
