  • Indians' Myles Jaye: Back from disabled list

Jaye (finger) returned from the minor-league disabled list Friday.

Jaye had been out with a finger blister. The 26-year-old has an ugly 6.38 ERA in 60.2 innings at the Triple-A level with Columbus and Rochester.

  • Indians' Myles Jaye: Back on minor-league DL

Jaye was placed on the minor-league disabled list Monday with a right finger blister.

Jaye made just three appearances with Triple-A Columbus -- allowing 10 runs while compiling a 3:5 K:BB through six innings -- before landing back on the minor-league DL for the second time this season. The 26-year-old has thrown just 60.2 innings between Triple-A Rochester and Columbus this season due to injuries, posting a lackluster 6.38 ERA and 28:21 K:BB over that stretch.

  • Indians' Myles Jaye: Brought off 7-day DL

Jaye (arm) was activated from the 7-day disabled list at Triple-A Columbus on Sunday.

Jaye hadn't pitched for Columbus since June 10 due to the arm injury. Over 10 starts at the Triple-A level in two organizations this season, Jaye has submitted a 5.43 ERA and 1.52 WHIP across 54.2 innings.

  • Indians' Myles Jaye: Placed on DL

Jaye landed on the 7-day disabled list with right arm soreness.

Jaye will miss a little time after being placed on the shelf following a disastrous outing against Buffalo on Sunday, during which he allowed nine earned runs on 14 hits in six innings. The right-hander has struggled in both of his starts after coming over to the Indians' organization from Minnesota at the end of May.

  • Indians' Myles Jaye: Dealt to Cleveland

Jaye was traded from the Twins to the Indians for cash Tuesday.

Jaye will head to Triple-A Columbus following Tuesday's trade. The 26-year-old started eight games at Triple-A Rochester, posting a 4.25 ERA with 19 strikeouts and 15 walks across 42.1 innings.

  • Twins' Myles Jaye: Headed back to minors camp

The Twins reassigned Jaye to minor-league camp Sunday, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Jaye reached the majors with the Tigers last season and made five appearances (two starts), yielding 17 runs and posting a 4:10 K:BB in 12.2 innings. Since his minor-league track record wasn't overly impressive, Jaye was waived during the offseason and latched on with the Twins as a non-roster invitee. He'll presumably slot in as starting depth at Triple-A Rochester, but Jaye's lack of a 40-man roster spot could make it difficult for him to earn a promotion to the big club in 2018.

  • Twins' Myles Jaye: Inks minor-league deal with Twins

Jaye agreed to a minor-league deal with the Twins on Thursday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Jaye spent most of the 2017 season with Triple-A Toledo, compiling a 3.58 ERA and 1.56 WHIP across 60.1 innings (11 starts). He did earn a September promotion, however he struggled to a 12.08 ERA, 2.21 WHIP and 4:10 K:BB across 12.2 innings of work, including a pair of starts. He'll offer organizational pitching depth for the Twins next season.

  • Tigers' Myles Jaye: Placed on waivers

Jaye was placed on waivers by the Tigers on Thursday, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Jaye spent the majority of his 2017 season with Triple-A Toledo, but he did receive a September callup, posting a 12.08 ERA over 12.2 innings (including two starts). The 25-year-old will open the 2018 season in the minors with his sights set on working his way back into the big-league bullpen.

  • Tigers' Myles Jaye: Blasted for five runs in return to bullpen

Jaye tossed 1.2 innings in relief in Thursday's 12-1 loss to the Twins, surrendering five runs on four walks and three hits while striking out a batter.

Following a disastrous two-start run in which he yielded 13 runs (12 earned) over 5.1 innings, Jaye was banished to the bullpen Thursday with Jordan Zimmermann (neck) cleared to rejoin the rotation following a brief hiatus. Zimmermann labored through the start while lasting just four innings, but Jaye was even worse in relief, He routinely fell behind in the count, throwing first-pitch strikes to just five of the 12 batters he faced, with seven ultimately reaching base. The Tigers' lack of competent bullpen arms probably means that Jaye will make a few more appearances before the season concludes Oct. 1, but don't expect him to provide much in the way of fantasy value while he pitches mostly in lower-leverage spots.

  • Tigers' Myles Jaye: Chased early in second start

Jaye (1-2) earned the loss after allowing six runs (five earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out one batter in 1.2 innings Saturday against the White Sox.

It was another forgettable outing from Jaye, who has now allowed 12 earned runs across just 5.1 innings in two starts since replacing Artie Lewicki in the Tigers' rotation. While Jaye held his own in a pair of long-relief appearances before entering the rotation, he hasn't been able to find the same success as a starter. He's expected to remain in the rotation despite his struggles; his next start is lined up for Friday against the Twins.

  • Tigers' Myles Jaye: Runs into buzzsaw versus Indians

Jaye (1-1) allowed seven runs on seven hits and two walks across 3.2 innings while taking the loss Monday against the Indians. He struck out two.

Jaye allowed five runs on four hits and a walk in the third inning before yielding a two-run home run to Jose Ramirez in the fourth. He threw just 11 first-pitch strikes to 23 batters and became predictable as he pitched from behind. Jaye faced an extremely difficult task against the surging Cleveland lineup in his first start of the season, but he didn't pitch well in this audition. He should remain in the rotation after Artie Lewicki was shut down, so Jaye appears set to start Saturday against the White Sox.

  • Tigers' Myles Jaye: Will start Monday vs. Indians

Jaye will move into the rotation and start Monday against the Indians, George Sipple of the Detroit Free Press reports.

As anticipated, Jaye will enter the rotation in place of Artie Lewicki, who will likely be shut down for the season due to workload concerns after amassing 146 innings across three stops on the campaign. The 25-year-old Jaye has fared well in his two long-relief appearances with the Tigers this season, but his middling numbers in the minors (3.96 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 115 strikeouts in 131.2 innings) won't make him an enticing streaming option against a red-hot Indians squad.

  • Tigers' Myles Jaye: Could move into rotation next week

Jaye could join the Tigers' rotation next week, likely picking up a start Monday or Tuesday against the Indians, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Following the trade last week that sent Justin Verlander to the Astros, the Tigers selected Artie Lewicki from Triple-A Toledo and inserted him into the rotation, but the rookie was never expected to stick around in a starting role for long. Lewicki, who was roughed up for five runs on 11 hits and a walk over five innings in his MLB debut Monday against the Royals, is now up to 146 innings on the season over his three stops, which could prompt the Tigers to shut him down to preserve his arm. Assuming that's the case, Jaye, who has made two solid appearances in relief since being recalled from Triple-A on Friday, would make for the most logical replacement for Lewicki. If Jaye does indeed start Monday or Tuesday, he would line up for a second start next weekend at home against the White Sox.

  • Tigers' Myles Jaye: Picks up first MLB win Tuesday

Jaye (1-0) recorded his first MLB win Tuesday against the Royals. He pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing a hit and two walks.

Detroit starter Anibal Sanchez threw only five pitches before taking a comebacker to the right leg, which forced him out of the game. That thrust Jaye into action early, and he responded well. The Tigers supplied him plenty of run support, too, as they scored seven times in the second inning and 13 times total. Jaye has now tossed 5.2 scoreless innings to begin his MLB career.

  • Tigers' Myles Jaye: Recalled from Triple-A

Jaye was recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Friday.

A 25-year-old righty, Jaye will be getting his first taste of the big leagues thanks to September roster expansion. He notched a 3.58 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 42 strikeouts in 60.1 innings (11 starts) with the Mud Hens. Given what the Tigers have already announced regarding other starters, Jaye seems most likely to be used in long relief.

  • Tigers' Myles Jaye: Optioned to minors

Jaye was optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday.

Jaye was aiming to secure a bullpen gig with the big club in spring training, but after getting lit up in Grapefruit League play for eight runs on nine hits and two walks over three innings, the Tigers determined the 25-year-old was better served opening the season in the minors. He's mostly worked as a starter throughout his time in the minors, so Jaye should be in decent position to claim a rotation spot for Toledo, especially after submitting a 3.69 ERA and 1.08 WHIP over seven starts with the club a season ago.

  • Tigers' Myles Jaye: Added to 40-man roster Friday

Jaye's contract was purchased from Triple-A Toledo on Friday.

Jaye pitched well after moving up to Toledo last season, sporting a 3.69 ERA after seven starts, so the Tigers decided to reward him with a spot on the 40-man roster. Detroit has a plethora of starters that are major-league ready, so the 24-year-old's will likely continue to develop at Triple-A unless he makes the switch to the bullpen.
