Steve Kerr has the lone distinction of being part of two historic regular season teams. He played for the '1995-96 Chicago Bulls team that won 72 games and is, of course, currently the coach of the Golden State Warriors, who after beating the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, have the NBA's record for single-season wins with 73.

Wanting to pay tribute to his old Bulls team, Kerr wore socks that feautured his former teammate Scottie Pippen for Golden State's 73rd win.

''I've felt their support and that was a really close team,'' Kerr told reporters before the game. ''I have a lot of love and a lot of great memories from all those guys. In honor of that team I will be wearing my Scottie Pippen socks tonight. True story.''

In a celebratory mood after Golden State won, Kerr showed off his Pippen socks , which are made by Stance, to reporters.

A fine tribute by Kerr, who now has Golden State focused on what his Bulls team did that season after finishing with a 72-10 record -- win another championship.
