The Golden State Warriors clinched the best record in the NBA and home court throughout the NBA playoffs on Thursday night with their 112-101 victory against the San Antonio Spurs at Oracle Arena. That it took a 70th victory to clinch it is a remarkable testament to how good the San Antonio Spurs have been this season.

After the Warriors clinched, the top four seeds in the Western Conference were locked, and are as follows.

1. Golden State Warriors

2. San Antonio Spurs

3. Oklahoma City Thunder

4. Los Angeles Clippers

We don't yet know who these teams will face in the first round of the playoffs, but if they all advance, it's Warriors-Clippers and Spurs-Thunder in the second round, which obviously favors the Warriors. It's not hard to see a scenario where the Thunder take the Spurs to seven games, leaving San Antonio drained heading into the conference finals vs. what might be the team with the best record in NBA history at that point.

With the Warriors' victory Thursday, they still have a chance at a 73-9 record, which would surpass the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls for the best in NBA regular-season history.

The Warriors are the No. 1 overall seed. The road to the Finals will go through Oracle.
