The Cleveland Browns not only suffered their third loss of the season last Sunday against the Cardinals, but they left Week 6 with a number of players banged up. That includes running back Kareem Hunt, who was placed on injured reserve Tuesday after sustaining a calf injury in Sunday's 37-14 loss. The team has also placed linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah on injured reserve. Both players will be out for at least three games.

In a corresponding move, the Browns activated running back John Kelly, a fourth-year veteran who is coming off a solid preseason

Hunt, who finished with 66 yards rushing and 12 yards receiving on three catches, suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss. The veteran back was in to block, but then leaked out to go out for a pass, but fell to the ground in the process. Hunt needed assistance getting off the field and couldn't put any pressure on his leg. After being looked at in the blue medical tent, he was carted off to the locker room.

This injury to Hunt only adds to the Browns banged-up backfield as the team was already without Nick Chubb (calf) for Week 6. Stefanski said he is "not ruling out" Chubb to play in Week 7 and added that "he's progressing." However, the Browns are in the midst of a short week as they are turning right around and gearing up to host the Broncos for "Thursday Night Football." Because it is such a quick turnaround, that could have an even bigger impact on Chubb's chances of playing.

Along with those two injuries, quarterback Baker Mayfield suffered a left shoulder injury that resulted in him being in a sling following the game. However, he told reporters Tuesday that he expects to play against Denver.
