With three BCS titles in the past four years, it comes as no surprise to see Alabama at No. 1 in the preseason coaches poll.

The Crimson Tide have a long season ahead before the discussion of a possible three-peat as national champions, but the path has been set with a preseason No. 1 ranking in the coaches poll. Alabama received 58 of 62 first-place votes with Ohio State and Texas A&M receiving the others.

Ohio State, coming off a 12-0 season in which they were ineligible to compete in a bowl due to NCAA sanctions, starts the season No. 2. Pac-12 North rivals Oregon and Stanford come in at No. 3 and No. 4. Georgia, the SEC runner-up by five yards a year ago, rounds out the top five.
