Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (August 28, 1997) -- Today's football fans want instant, real-time updates of their favorite teams and players. With Football Live!, a free service of CBS SportsLine (cbs.sportsline.com), fans get that and more in a fun, graphical format that features coverage of every play, interactive features and the sights of the stadium that cannot be found anywhere else on the Internet. Back for its third season, Football Live! is easier-to-use than ever before and offers several new features. Football Live! is the next best thing to being at the game.

Football Live! uses a direct data feed provided by SportsTicker to show the action of every NFL game with real-time updates. Viewers can follow the action while interacting with other fans in chat rooms dedicated to specific games. Football Live!'s improved interface makes selecting and switching between games even easier; so online football fans will never miss another play of their favorite teams' games.

"Football Live! is a great way to follow your favorite teams," commented NFL Legend and CBS SportsLine spokesman Joe Namath. "It's great for fans like me who want to see action from every game in progress and those who like to follow their favorite non-local teams."

"We created Football Live! so that fans could follow their favorite teams -- regardless of their geographic locations," said CBS SportsLine CEO Michael Levy. "Football Live! is a further example of how CBS SportsLine is accomplishing its mission to provide the most interactive, multimedia sports content on the Web."

CBS SportsLine's football coverage doesn't stop there. The service has a team of major writers across the country who provide regional insight. "Displaced" fans no longer have to rely on generic reports on their favorite team; they can get the "inside scoop" from local writers who are in touch with the teams and players they cover.

SportsLine USA, the publisher of CBS SportsLine, is a Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based sports media and technology company founded in 1994. The SportsLine service was renamed CBS SportsLine as the result of a comprehensive five-year promotional agreement with CBS Sports in March 1997. The service features more than 100,000 pages of multimedia sports information and entertainment covering all major collegiate and professional sports. Programming includes exclusive editorials by nationally acclaimed writers; award-winning, real time animated baseball and football coverage via "virtual stadiums;" a merchandise superstore; and the only Internet-based all-sports radio station. Among the spokespersons and advisors for the service are Michael Jordan, Joe Namath, Jerry Rice, Pete Sampras, Cal Ripken, Monica Seles, Arnold Palmer, Joe Montana, Mike Schmidt, Shaquille O'Neal and Wayne Gretzky.
