It appears NC State has a new quarterback to usher in the Dave Doeren era.

Former Florida Gators quarterback Jacoby Brissett is expected to transfer to NC State, according to a source. He is choosing the Wolfpack over West Virginia. Word already has circulated inside the Wolfpack athletic department offices, so barring any last-minute snags, he's Raleigh-bound.

The Palm Beach Post first reported the news.

Brissett, a highly ranked dual-threat quarterback out of West Palm Beach in 2011, played sparingly during two seasons at Florida, which started Jeff Driskel during this year's 11-win season.

Brissett finished 41 of 74 passing for 455 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions at Florida. He's an intriguing prospect because of his 6-foot-5 frame and good athleticism.
