Phillies' Cesar Hernandez: Heads to bench

Hernandez will be on the bench Monday against the Pirates.

Hernandez hits the bench after starting 14 straight games, a stretch in which he hit .294/.400/.353. Scott Kingery will be the second baseman in his absence, with Adam Haseley starting in center field. Per Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Hernandez's absence is due to his lack of hustle during Sunday's loss to the Marlins.
