Adams didn't make the Opening Day roster and was designated for assignment Saturday.
Adams' poor 2016 showing carried over to spring training as he allowed eight runs over 11 innings (11 games). Although the possibility exists that he could make his way back up to the majors during the upcoming season, he'll likely serve as organizational depth.
