Flowers is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.
Flowers is having a solid season offensively, hitting .267 with two home runs and 11 RBI, but will take the day off in favor of lefty A.J. Pierzynski. It is likely that Flowers returns Thursday with southpaw Madison Bumgarner on the mound for the Giants.
