The Cardinals outrighted Rivas to Triple-A Memphis on Thursday after he cleared waivers.
While no longer on St. Louis' 40-man roster, Rivas will remain in the organization as depth. The 27-year-old is sporting just a .246/.364/.323 batting line with zero home runs this season at Memphis.
