Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Generating buzz, going to Double-A

Carroll will open the year at Double-A Amarillo, Sam Dykstra of MiLB.com reports.

He only played seven games at High-A last year before suffering a season-ending right shoulder injury, but Carroll looked so good this spring that he's going straight to Double-A to open the year. Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reported last week that Carroll is already big-league ready, according to one AL scout, but there's no reason to expect the Diamondbacks to rush him to the majors this year. He could enter next year as the game's top prospect and on the big-league roster.
