Duplantier (lat) was selected by the Dodgers in the third round of the 2021 Rule 5 draft Wednesday, JJ Cooper of Baseball America reports.
Duplantier inked a minor-league deal with the Giants late last week, but the team didn't add him to the 40-man roster. While it's not yet clear whether the right-hander's lat strain will keep him sidelined to begin spring training in 2022, he'll remain in the NL West as part of the Dodgers' 40-man roster.
