McKinney was scratched from Saturday's lineup against the Padres with a sore right knee, David Lennon of Newsday reports.
He had been heating up at the plate, batting .333 with two home runs and one steal over his last 30 at-bats. Mason Williams will replace McKinney in the lineup.
