Mazeika's contract was purchased prior to Tuesday's game against the Marlins, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
The 26-year-old backstop has never played above Double-A, where he has spent the entirety of the last two seasons. Tomas Nido was placed on the injured list for an undisclosed reason in a corresponding move, so Mazeika will serve as Wilson Ramos' backup for the time being.
