Tate was shut down from throwing Friday after receiving a second opinion on his forearm, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Tate has been on the shelf all season with a right forearm strain, and his time on the injured list doesn't appear to be ending anytime soon. The 29-year-old righty has already embarked on two separate rehab assignments this season, and there's no telling when he'll begin his third.
