Sucre cleared waivers and accepted an assignment to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Sucre was designated for assignment Sunday, and after making it through waivers, he chose to accept an assignment with the Tides. The veteran backstop will serve as organizational depth for the Orioles moving forward.
