Lucas (shoulder) started playing catch Monday and will progress to throwing off a mound soon, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
He says he feels a lot better of late, but some side sessions will be required before he comes off the injured list. Once activated, Lucas should offer big-league bullpen depth.
