Brewer was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a strained left oblique Monday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Brewer has thrown three innings for the Padres this season and has yet to give up an earned run. Joey Lucchesi was recalled from Triple-A El Paso in a corresponding move.
