Price (elbow) was taken off the 10-day DL on Thursday, Evan Drellich of WEEI.com reports. However, Price will work in a relief role for the remainder of 2017, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

He'll first be available Sunday or Monday, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports. Although this move comes as a minor surprise, there's no advantage for keeping Price on the disabled list with the expanded rosters at this point in the year. In this multi-innings role, his fantasy value is all but erased in most mixed leagues, though strikeout chasers could still benefit. The club also may choose to start stretching him out beyond the "Andrew Miller" role if they wind up changing course.
