The Tigers reinstated Goodrum (groin) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday. He'll start at shortstop and bat eighth in the TIgers' game against the Athletics.
As anticipated, Goodrum will make his return to Detroit with the roster expanding from 26 to 28 men Wednesday. The 29-year-old was on the shelf for nearly three weeks with a strained left groin, but he looks to be in good shape after completing a five-game rehab assignment in the minors. Goodrum is expected to settle back in as Detroit's everyday shortstop, leaving Willi Castro and Harold Castro to compete for reps at second base.
