Burr was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Friday, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Burr has surrendered six earned runs with a 7:4 K:BB over nine big-league innings this year and will now head to the minors. He had a 2.45 ERA in 34 outings for Chicago in 2021, so he figures to rejoin the big-league bullpen at some point.
