Avilan signed a major-league contract with the Yankees on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old joined the team on a minor-league deal in January and was included in the team's 60-player pool, and he was able to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster in summer training. Avilan appeared in 45 games for the Mets last season and had a 5.06 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 30:14 K:BB over 32 innings.
