Payne was assigned Tuesday to the D-League's Windy City Bulls.
Payne played just two minutes and recorded two rebounds during Sunday's win over the Bucks in his return to the NBA level. He'll be sent back down to the D-League in time to participate in Windy City's game Tuesday against the Erie BayHawks, but could rejoin the NBA team soon thereafter. Payne has averaged 18.0 points and 5.0 assists across 22.9 minutes per game in four appearances with Windy City.
